Business Insider recognizes KPM media platform leader in “Rising Stars of Adtech"

Business Insider announced its second annual list of up-and-comers who specialize in advertising technology, including the leader behind Kroger Precision Marketing’s media platform, Dan Mayer. 

The list includes mid-career professionals who are solving some of the advertising industry's toughest problems, and seizing its newest opportunities, according to Business Insider. 

Mayer was recognized for leading the digital media industry’s charge to prove the incremental impact of advertising.   

With Mayer leading the effort to prove the effect of media on driving meaningful business outcomes, Kroger Precision Marketing (KPM) was rated the #1 retail media network for Measurement Capabilities in a 2023 survey of brand managers conducted by The Path to Purchase Institute.  

Powered by Kroger’s popular loyalty card program, the measurement capability connects advertising exposure to in-store and online product sales. Control groups are designed to mirror campaign audiences – and attribute only the incremental impact of advertising. 

KPM hired Mayer in January 2020 as a Director within the Data Science function. In his role, he was influential in developing the media business roadmap for data science and research, focused on new partner enablement and media effectiveness.  

In addition, he was a key thought leader behind the strategy and approach for building audiences and measuring impact through KPM’s programmatic product. 

Since 2022, Mayer has been leading the team focused on developing products that can manage ads, provide analytics, and activate across numerous publishers. He has established new and improved practices while curating roadmaps, identifying dependencies and technology advantages, and steering his team through a new operating model.  

Mayer recently spoke on a panel at LiveRamp’s 2023 RampUp event, where 2,000 attendees filled conference rooms to hear leaders share how they’re creating stronger connections with customers through data collaboration. He discussed the retail media explosion and what’s next for existing and emerging retail media networks.
