What was your experience like in the Development Program? My experience in the 84.51° Development Program was incredibly valuable. The program began with a month of training that helped me build essential skills and knowledge for my role as an engineer. It was great to be part of a cohort of colleagues who were also starting their journeys at 84.51°. This created a supportive and collaborative atmosphere that made the transition into the world of engineering at the company much smoother.
How do you believe the 84.51° Development Program compares to other comparable programs?
The 84.51° Development Program stands out due to its comprehensive training and the emphasis on creating a strong support network for new hires. The program's commitment to mentorship and hands-on experience is impressive and helps participants integrate into the company's culture and projects effectively. The sense of community among the cohort members is also a unique aspect that fosters collaboration.
How do you believe the Development Program equipped you for success at 84.51°?

What did you learn from the Development Program that you have transferred into your current role?
The Development Program provided me with a deep understanding of 84.51°'s data-driven approach and the resources needed to contribute effectively to projects. Additionally, the program taught me the importance of effective communication and collaboration, skills that I continue to use daily in my current engineering role.
Is there anything you wish you had known about the Development Program prior to enrolling?
I had a positive experience with the Development Program, but if I were to offer advice to future participants, I would suggest being proactive in seeking out mentorship and networking opportunities within the company.
What has been the most memorable experience or favorite project you’ve worked on?
The most memorable project I've worked on (and continue to work on) is building out PRISM – a simple platform for our CPG clients to plan and manage media investments to create more connected and personalized experiences for shoppers. Being a part of building an enterprise software like PRISM from the ground up has been an incredibly valuable experience for me. It has helped me quickly ramp up my understanding of the business, and I've been able to work on different aspects of software engineering that I've always wanted to get exposure to. This project has been a significant milestone in my career at 84.51°.
Did you go through the internship program at 84.51° prior to graduating? If so, what was that experience like?
I did not go through the internship program at 84.51°. Instead, I joined as a career-switcher. I’ve worked in more data/analytics centered roles in the past.
What advice would you give students who are interested in working in the engineering industry?
For students interested in working in the engineering industry, I would highly recommend seeking out structured programs like the 84.51° Development Program. These programs can provide you with the skills, mentorship, and support you need to kickstart your engineering career. Additionally, never stop learning, be open to new challenges, and seek out opportunities to collaborate with diverse teams.

My favorite part about working at 84.51° is the collaborative and innovative culture. The company values teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement. In terms of benefits, I appreciate the flexible work arrangements and generous PTO, which promote work-life balance.
What do you like to do in your free time outside work hours?
In my free time, I enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor activities. I’m a huge tennis fan so I’m either watching a tennis match or playing. I also like to bike along the lake. Additionally, I like to experiment with cooking and try out new recipes. It's a great way to unwind and share good food with friends and family.
